Overview
This year's symposium will feature nationally recognized speakers in the field of diagnostic ultrasound. The presenters will provide current information on a variety of topics, including Multiple Gestation and Role of Ultrasound, Taking Care of the Tools you Use, Advanced Liver Ultrasound, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Analysis of the Carotid Duplex Examination, and Interesting Case Studies: A Student's Perspective.

Objectives
  1. Recognize different types of multiple gestation via ultrasound.
  2. Explain difference between chorioncity and zygosity.
  3. Identify complications of twins gestation.
  4. Describe latest technology advancements with contrast enhanced liver ultrasound and elastography.
  5. Identify role these technologies have in evaluation of hepatic disease states.
  6. Discuss sonographer's role in identifying liver pathologies.
  7. Describe crucial items to complete for overall better health of ultrasound system.
  8. Explain ways improper chemicals can harm ultrasound system and transducers.
  9. Discuss methods to inspect transducers for issues that could affect patient safety.
  10. Describe shoulder imaging anatomy.
  11. Identify main imaging findings of various pathology affecting shoulder on ultrasound.
  12. Discuss focus areas including rotator cuff, biceps tendon, bursal pathology, impingement, articular abnormalities, neural disease and shoulder masses.
  13. Review cardiac disorders seen on carotid duplex examination.
  14. Recognize abnormal vertebral artery waveforms seen on carotid duplex examination.
  15. Discuss abnormal pathology seen on carotid duplex examination.
  16. Identify four pathologies that may be seen in scanning practice.
  17. Describe clinical presentations for four pathologies.
  18. Explain four disease processes, and sonographic findings for each.
