ProMedica’s Department of Continuing Medical Education is committed to providing the highest-quality learning opportunities for physicians and other health care professionals.

This CME portal allows users to register for upcoming ProMedica CME events, complete activity evaluations, update contact information, review credit transcripts, and more.

Important Note: At this time most physicians are able to sign in using "Use My ProMedica login." While we are working to add everyone, non-physicians and physicians not in the system should create a CloudCME account by clicking the "Login with my CloudCME account" and then register for an account by clicking "I Don't have an account."

To access these important features, Sign In here and then click the "My CME" button in the main navigation bar.

Overview

Cardiac Arrhythmias are very common affecting 1 in 4 Adult Americans over the age of 40.  The symptoms and presentations are variable.  The arrhythmias affect the quality of life for most patients and also can lead to stroke or death. There are many electrical causes inside the heart that can lead up to Arrhythmias.

Electrophysiology studies (EPS) are tests that help doctors understand, treat and cure these heart rhythm problems or Arrhythmias.

This conference will provide attendees with the latest information on how to manage different Arrhythmias thus help manage patients.

Objectives
  1. Identify different types of supra ventricular tachycardia (SVT) based on EKG tracing.
  2. Recognize and manage pre-excited atrial fibrillation in patients with Wolf-Parkinson-White (WPW)
  3. Differentiate SVT with aberrancy from ventricular tachycardia (VT) based on EKG.
  4. Identify high-risk indicators for VT and sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
  5. Explain pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) and left atrium (LA) ablation in atrial fibrillation.
  6. Recognize when to refer patients for atrial fibrillation radio frequency ablation (RFA).
  7. Recognize outcomes for ablation treatments in different fibrillation categories.
  8. Review indications for pacing and implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) therapy.
  9. Recognize need for CRT-pacing/defibrillation.
  10. Discuss advancement in technology with regards to subq ICDs.
  11. Discuss overview of electrophysiological procedures.
  12. Describe growth of defibrillators from past to present.
  13. Recognize proper patient management in patients with arrhythmias and conduction diseases.
