ANCC Learning Outcomes

Sepsis remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality across healthcare settings, making early recognition and timely intervention essential to improving patient outcomes. This educational activity is designed to enhance participants' knowledge, skills, clinical practice, and professional behaviors related to the identification, assessment, communication, and management of patients with suspected sepsis. Through engagement with current evidence-based guidelines and interactive learning experiences, participants will be better equipped to recognize sepsis promptly, initiate appropriate interventions, and contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care.


  1. Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to describe current evidence-based practices for the early recognition, assessment, and management of sepsis to support timely intervention and improve patient outcomes. (Knowledge)
  2. Participants will demonstrate the ability to recognize early signs of sepsis and initiate timely nursing interventions to support compliance with evidence-based sepsis care bundles. (Skill)
  3. Participants will incorporate evidence-based approaches to sepsis assessment and management into routine patient care to enhance patient safety and outcomes. (Practice)
