Overview
In the United States, acute and chronic wounds affect around 6.5 million patients. The need for treatment of wounds is growing rapidly due to an aging population and a sharp rise in the incidence of diabetes and obesity. This symposium will provide current information on basic science of wound healing including treatment modalities and evidence-based solutions for venous diseases, ischemic limb preservation, management of diabetic foot ulcers, and diagnosis and treatment of atypical wounds.
